Creola - 2006

Creola took part in the 2006 Tall Ships Race to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the first race in 1956. The Race was started in Torbay by the Duke of Edinburgh as was the first ever race. Not that he or many other people saw Creola or any of the other competitors. The race started in thick fog.

Fortunately I had the chance to photograph this rare fourmasted Portuguese ex-fishing schooner. Creola was on passage from the fleet departure port of St Malo across the Channel to Torbay the day before the start.
