Lunch break at the Voilles de Lateen St Tropez 2007

St Tropez is not just for expensive yachts and gin palaces or just movie stars. As well as a native fleet of lateen rigged vessels, Mediterranean lateen rigged boats from France, Spain, Italy and Greece gathered for this increasingly popular event.

To be honest I did not take my best pictures of lateen rigged boats sailing either at St Tropez or the event at Palma Majorca. The best one is posted on this site Lug and lateen rigged skiffs sailing off Toulon 2007 when I arrived for the tall ships event there. Due to the light winds in St Tropez the most exciting thing going on at the time was the visit of the 1,000 Harley Davidsons but motor bikes are not suitable for tallshipsandsmallships.com.
